Please Travel
There is a lot to be gained from traveling.
Of course there is the money issue, but if you can, do it.
(if you do it too much, you’ll catch the travel bug and it will change your life [now for better or worse, I can’t say])
Sometimes when I travel, I enjoy doing tourist things, but most of the time, I don’t. I love checking out local hot spots and I love being surrounded by the culture or scenery. One of the major things you gain from traveling to different places is the way people are. It’s amazing to think how we all live in such a tiny bubble which only goes out about 20 miles in all directions. That’s where our “lives” take place. That’s our “set”. Quite interesting if you think about it.
We’re tiny.
Have you seen the movie “The Truman Show”? It’s one of my top 5 movies of all time because of how it makes me look at my own life. I think some of us are too comfortable in our bubbles. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I’m telling you, there is a lot out there to experience in this world and you’re only keeping the gift from yourself.
Like I said before, money is the main issue. Yeah, that sucks.
But I have to say, from speaking to people throughout my life, when someone traveled around with what little money they had, they never had any regrets.
No one regrets traveling.
“My Way” by Frank Sinatra
“Regrets I’ve had a few
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way”
